Tablescape Tuesday – Nativity Centerpiece

Tablescape Tuesday is sponsored by Susan of Between Naps on the Porch.

Today’s post shares a nativity scene as part of the table setting. The dishware is Lenox “Holiday” fine china and the linens are matching fabric placemats, napkins and table runner. The napkin rings are the matching china. Set in the dining room, the centerpiece is the ivory Lenox “China Jewels” nativity which has many pieces, each embellished with jewel toned decorations and gold.

The true centerpiece is the Holy Family surrounded with angels, baby lambs, the drummer boy and other figures.

The tablerunner is surrounded by silver and gold bead garlands and bright green ribbon strung with green blown glass ornaments. These pick up the color of the goblets with their clear stems.

Silverplated candlesticks have pairs of gilt angels and bows over gilt candles.

The table settings include cream soups and stands, and rimmed soup bowls.
At the near end of the table is the Innkeeper with his lantern indicating no vacancy. A palm tree, next to the teapot, provides some vegetation to the scene.

This tablesetting has been used for many years and enjoyed by family and friend. Its monochromatic color scheme mutes the opulence and provides a pleasant setting for a festive holiday meal.

For more delightful table settings please see the list of participants at Susan’s blog.

  2. The tablesetting is absolutely beautiful but the jaw dropper has to be the many pieces of this nativity setting. I've never seen anything like this at all.
