And the Winners Are …

Last Friday morning two names were drawn for the second Holiday Giveaway from the bloggers who had entered the giveaway. A slip with each entrant’s name were placed in a wooden holiday container. I asked my mother to mix the slips around and then to draw one.
Sheila of The Quintessential Magpie was the first name drawn. She chose the nativity set.
A Hint of Home was drawn next. She will receive the 1979 nativity plate by D'Arceau Limoges .

I prepared both packages for mailing, but since the ice storm had cut off all electrical power, I was unable to notify the winners until I reached my sister’s house and had access to a computer.
Back home on Tuesday December 16, I addressed and took the packages to the post office.
Many thanks to all that participated in the second Holiday Giveaway.

A Second Holiday Giveaway

Fontanini Heirloom Nativity Set

It's time for a second Holiday Giveaway from Carola Nativity Gallery blog. At the hospital thrift shop I found a small nativity scene which will be the first item in this giveaway.

1. A ‘vintage’ white ceramic nativity scene. I have a similar set made for me by my secretary’s mother in 1994. The person who made this set used a greenish glaze on the white ceramic. The 15-piece set includes
Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus
Three Wise Men
Angel
Two Shepherds
1 Donkey
1 Ox
2 Sheep
2 Camels

The second item is another collector's plate from a series based on the stained glass windows at Chartres Cathedral.

2. Christmas plate from France - part of the "Noel Vitrail" series by D'Arceau Limoges. 1979 L'Adoration Des Rois (The Adoration of Kings). It is in original packaging with certificate.

This Holiday Giveaway is open to any blogger from one of the lower forty-eight United States.

The Winners Are …

On Thanksgiving Day the Holiday Giveaway was drawn from the bloggers who had entered the giveaway, which ended at 10 p.m. Wednesday night.

I placed the slips with each entrant’s name in a footed bowl. I asked my sister to mix the slips around and then to draw one.

Melissa of Melissa’s Heart and Home was the first name drawn. Of the two prizes, she chose the nativity Advent calendar.

Ann of Life at Ann’s Place was drawn next. She will receive the blue and white nativity plate.

Both packages were mailed on my way home on Friday afternoon, since I had wrapped the packages and brought them with me late on Wednesday. All I had to do Friday was to write address labels and affix them to the correct package.

Many thanks to all who participated in the giveaway. Watch for a second giveaway coming soon.

I have truly appreciated all those who have come to my new blog since it started on October 14. Your comments have been very encouraging. So here is my very first giveaway.
As a collector one often ends up with duplicate items. I would like to share some of these in a holiday giveaway or two.

1 vintage but new-in-package Advent calendar with a nativity theme. Printed in Western Germany.

1 vintage blue and white nativity plate by Kaiser Porcelain Co. "The Three Kings." Christmas Plate. Made in Staffelstein, Bavaria, West Germany. Dated 1977. "8th issue in the series." Artist, Toni Shoener. 7 ¾" in diameter. Three Wise Men on Camels approach stable with Holy Family. Star above. This is a very beautiful plate.
This is the original package -- though it is pretty battered.
